18 June, 1938 – 12 February, 2026
In memory of Peter. Loving brother, husband, father, friend “who put the gentle in ‘gentleman’.”(1)
Peter died 12 February 2026 peacefully at home with his wife and daughter at his side.
He spent many years working for the BBC, initially with BBC education before joining the BBC Visual Effects department, where he remained for many years and worked on over 150 shows during his career including Dr Who, Blake 7, Terry and June, Dave Allen, The Goodies, Body Matters, Howard’s Way, Tale of Two Cities and more recently with the Brainiac team and appearing on episodes as Peter Logan’s Exploding Paste (Nitrogen Triiodide) fame on some episodes of Brainiac.
The latter an extention of his interests from a very early age in chemistry explosions and pyrotechnics, which continued through his time at school and given opportunity to blossom in the BBC.
News of his announcing the arrival of his daughter by hanging a full size model stork carrying a doll outside his house, found it’s way into local and national press.

Outside of the BBC he was a talented craftsman turning his hand to such things as building a fitted kitchen for his house or a bed for his son and on the one hand and creating minatures, including a scale replica of Michael Faraday’s laboratory at the Royal Institute, London, on the other.
He had strong interests in scientific instruments and microscopy, being a member of the Queckett Microscropical Club for sometime, as well as an interest in Scottish Dancing.
His funeral was held at his home church Cheam Baptist Church, Cheam on 25 March 2026 followed by cremation at Randall’s Park Crematorium, Leatherhead attended by family, friends and work colleagues. Eulogies were given by his daughter Sarah and his son Kit, and a Bible reading by his wife Pamela.
